COMMUNITY CARE PROGRAM

Program Details and Eligibility

The Community Care Program (CCP) provides access to accessible, supportive care counselling for young adults aged 18 to 29 who are otherwise unable to access counselling services.

This program is intended to assist applicants with a gross family annual income of under $40,000 / year.

The CCP is NOT a walk-in clinic nor crisis center. This program is not meant to replace existing private and public funding opportunities, and cannot support acute and complex mental health diagnosis. This program is also not appropriate for applicants in active addiction.

It’s hoped applicants for the CCP program will exhaust access and funding from these sources that apply, before requesting Third Space Charity support:

Private Insurance — Applicants for the CCP program are expected to fully exhaust funding from all private insurance sources, including the following for both the applicant and his/her spouse including but not limited to: extended medical and health benefits, employee assistance programs; and health spending accounts. Please consult with your human resources department or your insurance provider(s) to determine whether your insurance or employee benefit plan covers counselling services.

Government funded Services — If you are eligible to receive subsidized counselling services from a government or government funded program, you must first seek access to counselling services through those programs and providers including:

Crime Victim Assistance Program (CVAP) If you have been directly impacted, or are an immediate family member or a witness of a crime, you may qualify for fully subsidized counselling services. This program is intended to support individuals, at no cost, who have been emotionally impacted by a crime. Please visit the Crime Victim Assistance Program for more information.

Motor Vehicle Accident related services (ICBC) — If you have been involved in a car collision in British Columbia, and have a claim number through the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia (ICBC), you may qualify for complimentary counselling.

Work related services (WORKSAFE BC) — If you have experienced a work-related accident that has injured you emotionally, you may qualify for complimentary counselling services. If you have a claim through WorkSafe BC for an incident that occurred at your workplace, please contact Worksafe BC for more information about how you may receive complimentary counselling. You may also speak with your case manager about possible mental health services as well. Find more information here.
